There is a minimum donation required to participate in this annual fundraising hike. The cost of R 20 000.00 for the full 21 days and over 400km, is fully inclusive of permits and camping equipment, guides, lecturers, dry-bag and carry bags, all transportation of packs between camps and 3 freshly prepared meals a day. It also includes a return transfer from Addo to either Knysna, Plettenberg Bay or to PE Airport. Price excludes alcohol and beverages. Our objective is to raise funds for conservation projects in the Eden to Addo Corridor Initiative in the Southern Cape, a non-profit Section 21 Conservation and Public benefit Organisation. Remember there are limited places available, so early booking is advisable. If you would like to walk with friends or family you are welcome - but remember it is a first come first served basis and the full amount for participation needs to be paid by the 1st August 2010 to secure your place. Payment is staggered over 6 months from registration in affordable portions. Terms and Conditions: Hikers · The minimum age for walkers is 21 years of age. · Hikers over 65 years of age to supply a doctors note relating to level of fitness. · All hikers need to be in good health and of reasonable fitness to enter and enjoy this adventure. Previous hikers grade the hike as an endurance hike that is enjoyable and also tough. · Acceptance onto the hike is subject to the submission and completion of the indemnity form and full payment of the minimum donation. · Any behavior by hikers that either endangers themselves and others, or negatively affects the enjoyment of other hikers, such hikers will be warned and if need be, will be asked to leave the walk without compensation. · Should you have to leave the trail for any reason, medical or personal, we will do our best to accommodate you back onto the trail, but cannot offer any compensation. Health and Safety It is the responsibility of each hiker to ensure that they have comprehensive medical aid or medical insurance cover. Backpacks and What to bring The hike is fully catered and all packs and tents are transported from the various camps each morning. Hikers only need to bring clothing and personal items. Please keep these to a maximum of 12kg per pack! · A small daypack. · A good 2 liter water-pack system is essential. · A camera and extra batteries. · Torches and spare batteries · All personal toiletries and medication, sunblock and insect repellent. · Wet weather gear, sunhat and not least a good walking stick. · Sleeping bag and camping matrass Included · All meals from start to finish. · Safari tents · Support staff and vehicles. · Personal route map. · Transfers to and from Knysna. · Unforgettable hiking memories. Excluded · Any airfares to or from George or Port Elizabeth. · Medical and Travel insurance. · Hiking sleeping mattress. · Extra blister plasters. · Sleeping Bag. · Personal medication. · Drinks and alcoholic beverages (there is an honesty bar available). |
